Things I Wish Reenactors Would Stop/Start Doing

dailyreenactor:

Because ranting is healthy.

These are great. Many of these are reasons I don’t consider myself a “reenactor,” though I love historic dress, am learning historic dance, and would adore the chance to use those in events more often.

Also, LOL at the after-hours partying! That definitely came as a disappointment at Pennsic*—the “crazy parties” in the Bog are exactly what you could find at any nightclub, only with drums and costumes (and not necessarily period-correct garb, either). Boooring. I go to events to recreate history, not to go clubbing.

*I know, I know, most reenactors look down on the SCA as not “real” reenacting.
